Google Pixel 8 Pro drop, scratch test
The Google Pixel 8 Pro drop test gives us a good idea of what might happen if you happen to accidentally drop yours as it’s more of a real-life scenario than a scientific one. The Pixel 8 Pro comes with a Gorilla Glass 2 protection on the front, and a Glass Victus 2 matte back with a polished aluminium frame.
The first drop test conducted by PBKreviews shows the phone falling from the waist height with the screen facing the concrete. There are no scratches on the Pixel 8 Pro except for tiny scrapes on the sides. The second drop is from the head height, and on the concrete. This time too there are no scratches on the phone’s display and the back but there are tiny ones on the corners of the frame. In comparison, the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s curved display cracked in these drops.
Moving on, the phone is dropped on the back from the waist height. There are tiny scratches on the back panel and the camera bezel but nothing major, and rest of the phone is fine. The last drop has the phone falling on the side from the waist height. This one causes damage to the phone’s display on the corner. But even so, the phone is still working fine and there are no major visible damages.
For the scratch test, the Pixel 8 Pro is put inside a bag of sand and gravel and rubbed against it. Here, too the phone shows very tiny and minute scratches on the display and the edges of the camera bezel. Otherwise, the phone is working fine and looks good as new. According to the YouTuber, the Pixel 8 Pro survived the drop and scratch test better than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
