iQOO is preparing to introduce the iQOO 12 series, comprising two phones – iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro. The smartphones will first be launched in China and will later be unveiled in India next month. We know that the vanilla iQOO 12 is launching in India, but it is uncertain whether the iQOO 12 Pro will be unveiled in India or not.
To be launched as the successor of the iQOO 11 series, these two smartphones will come equipped with features such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, a triple camera setup on the back and more. Let’s explore the launch date, design, expected specifications and more.
iQOO 12 launch date in India, availability
- The smartphone brand has confirmed that the iQOO 12 series will launch in China on November 7th, and the iQOO 12 will be revealed in India on December 12th.
- The vanilla iQOO 12 will be available for purchase on Amazon following its official announcement in India.
iQOO 12 design
- As per the images revealed by the company, the iQOO 12 features a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the front camera, flat edges, and slim bezels.
- On the right edge of the iQOO 12, you’ll find the volume and power buttons.
- The back of the iQOO 12 has a sizeable square module that houses three camera sensors, with an LED flash placed just outside this module.
- The back panel, especially on the Black model, doesn’t seem to be made of glass. The phone’s frame has a boxy design with curved edges.
- Furthermore, the poster also revealed the existence of a special edition model of the iQOO 12 similar to the iQOO 11 Legend, which is themed around BMW Motorsport.
iQOO 12 series specifications (expected)
- Display: The iQOO 12 series might come with a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display, offering a 144Hz refresh rate, 3000nits peak brightness, and 2160Hz PWM dimming.
- Chipset: The iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset along with an Adreno GPU.
- iQOO 12 cameras: The iQOO 12 is expected to have a main 50MP camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP telephoto lens.
- iQOO 12 Pro cameras: The iQOO 12 Pro may feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera.
- Front camera: For selfies and video chats, the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro smartphones might feature a 16MP front camera.
- Storage: The iQOO flagship phones could offer up to 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB using UFS 4.0.
- OS: These two upcoming smartphones are expected to run on Android 14 with the OriginOS custom skin.
- Battery: The iQOO 12 series phones are anticipated to have a 5,000mAh battery and support fast charging at 120W.
