MG Motors India took the wraps off of the MG Comet EV city-friendly electric car recently and now the company has revealed the prices on it. The MG Comet EV will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3 electric hatchbacks in India. This EV will get a 17.3 kWh battery pack which could deliver a certified range of about 230 km on a single charge. The MG Comet EV also packs in features like dual 10.25-inch screens, steering-mounted controls, parking sensors and cameras and premium-looking light-coloured interiors.

MG Comet EV price in India
The MG Comet EV has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The MG Comet EV is offered in three levels – Pace, Play and Push. The base Pace trim level is being offered at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) while the mid-level Play variant can be had for Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-end Push variant will command a price tag of 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices are valid for the first 5,000 customers post which MG might change the pricing on the EV.
Buyers will get an option to choose from five colour options which include dual-tone Apple Green and Starry Black, dual-tone Candy White and Starry Black, Starry Black, Aurora Silver and Candy White. Customers will also be given a choice of adding multiple customisation options via skins and wraps and can have over 250 possible combinations.
MG Comet EV specifications
The MG Comet EV is 2,974mm long, 1,505mm wide and gets a 2,010mm of wheelbase. The compact dimensions allow a turning radius of just 4.2m. The tallboy design also opens up space for four adults and MG claims even six-footers will be comfortable inside the Comet EV. The Comet EV is powered by an electric motor that generates 42bhp of peak power and 110Nm of peak torque. This motor sips juice from a 17.3kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 230km. The battery pack takes about seven hours to charge from zero to 100 percent via a 3.3kW charger.

The vehicle runs on 145/70 R12 tyres and gets discs only at the front. Underpinning the Comet EV is a McPherson Strut and a Multi-Link Coil Suspension at the front and rear respectively. The vehicle’s battery pack is IP67 certified and gets safety features such as ABS + EBD, rear parking sensors and camera, TPMS, day/night mirror, ISOFIX child seat mounts and dual front airbags.
As for features, the MG Comet EV gets LED lighting, an illuminated MG logo, a 10.25-inch fully digital MID, a 10.25-inch central infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless go with a smart key system, power windows, manual AC, 2 speakers, charging sockets, as well as connected car tech.
