Xiaomi Mi 10 5G is all set to launch in India on May 8th, the company has officially announced on its social media account. Xiaomi will announce the 108MP smartphone through a livestream launch event on Friday, May 8th and we should know about the event time in the coming days. The Mi 10 India launch was previously postponed due to the coronavirus lockdown in the country. With the government now allowing e-commerce platforms to deliver non-essential products like smartphones, brands like Xiaomi can begin announcing new products in India. The Mi 10 will go on sale on Amazon following its launch as the e-commerce site now has a dedicated microsite for the smartphone.
In a media briefing today, Xiaomi revealed that the Mi 10 will launch in India with a completely ad-free MIUI experience. This will come as a sigh of relief for Mi fans who are not too fond of seeing ads on Xiaomi phones. The Mi 10 has been launched globally and in China with MIUI 11-based Android 10, and we expect the Indian variant to come with this version as well. Additionally, the Mi 10 Indian variant will come with dual-SIM support and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Mi 10 sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with support for 90Hz refresh rate. It features a punch-hole cutouts for the selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 865 5G chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. One of the highlights of the Mi 10 is its quad camera setup that includes a 108MP main camera, a 13MP wide-angle lens and two 2MP sensors. The phone houses a 4,780mAh battery and supports 30W fast wired and wireless fats charging, much like The OnePlus 8 Pro.
