Netflix expands streaming games on TVs, plans to launch new ‘GTA’ game

• Netflix users in the UK, Canada and the US can now play games on devices other than smartphones. This new feature is however, available in a limited beta test to select users in all three countries.
• On TVs, you can play Netflix games by downloading a controller app on your smartphone. But there are limited options for compatible TVs, and the options include Amazon Fire TV streaming media players, Chromecast with Google TV, LG TVs, Nvidia Shield TV, Roku devices and TVs, Samsung Smart TVs, and Walmart ONN. Netflix said it will add more devices on an ongoing basis.
• PC and Mac users can play Netflix games from the browser using a keyboard and mouse. For now, there are only two Netflix games that are available — Oxenfree and Molehew's Mining Adventure. Oxenfree is from Night School Studio, a Netflix Game Studio, while Molehew's Mining Adventure is a gem-mining arcade game.

Netflix x GTA

Netflix is planning to release a Grand Theft Auto, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. The company has made plans with publisher Take-Two Interactive to release a new GTA title that will release on Netflix. If we're lucky (or unlucky) this title might just release before GTA 6.

There are no details about this development, and whether the game will be mobile-exclusive or available to play on TVs as well. But it does confirm Netflix's seriousness in expanding its gaming library. Netflix is planning to launch more games based on its popular titles including Squid Game, Wednesday, Extraction, and Black Mirror, the report added.
