Those awaiting a third season of the popular web series Masaba Masaba are in for a disappointment as one of the lead actors of the show has confirmed there won’t be one. Actress Neena Gupta, who plays herself in the show, has expressed her displeasure at Netflix for not giving the series a third season.
In an interview with News18, Neena was quoted saying:
“I want to tell Netflix that it isn’t fair that they didn’t sanction us the third season of Masaba Masaba. So many people ask me when the next season of the show will be out. I don’t know why they ask me.”
The first season of Masaba Masaba came out in 2020 on Netflix, marking the first on-screen collaboration between designer Masaba Gupta and her mother, actress Neena Gupta. Both Neena and Masaba play dramatised versions of themselves in the semi-biographical show.

Neena added, “We were really looking forward to the third season. I don’t understand and know what Netflix’s strategy is and what kind of shows they actually want to make. I think they should make season three.”
News18 then reached out to Netflix for their reaction to the actress’ comments. The report quoted a source from Netflix, saying, “The storyline in Masaba Masaba reached its natural conclusion at the end of season two. A third season was not ever announced or put into development.”
Masaba Masaba season 2 came out in 2022 and is available to stream on Netflix along with the first season. The series is rated 6.7 on IMDb and also stars actors Neil Bhoopalam, Masaba’s real-life husband Satyadeep Mishra and influencer Kusha Kapila.
