The Ola S1 Pro also boasts of a higher claimed range at 181km per charge.
The Ola S1 Pro finishes at the top of the podium despite having a weight disadvantage when compared to the Ather. The Ola S1 Pro also achieves a higher top speed of 99.43kmph at the end of the quarter mile drag straight.
Electric powertrains are known for their instantaneous power and torque delivery which makes them very quick when it comes to acceleration. The Ola S1 Pro is a clear champion in its segment in this regard. The Ather 450X, which happens to be the next best sporty alternative, could not manage to defeat the Ola in Autocar's speed test. The Autocar India team did two runs of a drag race between the Ola S1 Pro and the Ather 450X. Riders were interchanged between the runs to eliminate any errors in the test, says the publication.
The Ather 450X is reportedly very quick off the line and delivers a crisp and thrilling initial acceleration. Autocar India's findings coincide with this fact. However, once the initial struggle to put down the torque is over, the Ola S1 Pro covers ground quickly as was reported. The Ola S1 Pro managed to post a quarter mile time of 19.163 seconds and 19.283 seconds in the two runs. The Ather 450X did the same straight in 21.769 seconds and 21.553 seconds. The Ather 450X is 13 kilos lighter than the Ola S1 Pro but has lesser power output at 6kW and torque at 26Nm.
