OnePlus Open FCC listing: battery and charging details

It seems like the OnePlus Open will feature a dual-cell battery like its other foldable counterparts. However, the size of the batteries is quite different on both sides which is not as common. The battery with model number BLPA03 has a 3,295mAh typical capacity while the other model, BLPA01 features a 1,510mAh capacity.

Combined to power the OnePlus Open, these result in a total of 4,805mAh capacity. The rated or MIN capacity should be 4,680mAh. These components will be manufactured by Sunwoda Electronics of China. The presence of a VCB8JAUH charging adapter for testing indicates that the device will also sport 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology.

OnePlus Open FCC listing: dimensions, OS and connectivity

In terms of dimensions, the OnePlus Open will stand a height of 153.4mm, and a length of 142.8mm which results in a pretty square-ish aspect ratio. This aspect ratio could however be helpful if you are using two apps side-by-side in a split screen mode on the main screen. The NFC area of the device will be the top half of the back glass where the camera module of the phone also resides.

The device, with model number CPH2551, could come with OxygenOS 13.2 based on Android 13 out of the box and not OxygenOS 14. This was expected as the company is still in the beta stages for the next version upgrade. The LTE and NR Band 40 will be disabled in the US and Canada.

What’s interesting is the mention of the 6GHz Wi-Fi compatibility which could mean that the device will feature Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 standard like the OnePlus 11. Bluetooth 5.3 with LE tech will also be present in the OnePlus Open.

OnePlus Open Geekbench listing

The device was also spotted being tested on Geekbench with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship chipset. The phone has only been tested with 16GB RAM till now which could mean that it boasts 16GB RAM as standard. One of the highest scores is 5,463 in the multi-core test and 2,014 in the single-core test.

OnePlus Open will launch tomorrow, October 19th, in global markets including India. It’s also launching as OPPO Find N3 in select countries like China and a few Southeast Asian countries. It could undercut the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 in terms of pricing but the rest remains to be seen.
