The successor to last year’s OPPO A5 2020 smartphone is in development and will be making its way to the Indian market soon. The smartphone, which could be named OPPO A6, may launch in India as early as September, according to a source close to the developments. However, there is no word on the specifications of the upcoming smartphone at the moment and no official teasers either. We can expect the new model to feature upgrades in the processor, camera, and display departments and have a price tag around Rs 10,000.
Launched in September last year, OPPO A5 2020 came in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants, while a 6GB RAM option was added in December. In terms of specifications, OPPO A5 2020 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) display with 20:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 3, and waterdrop notch. It was launched with ColorOS 6.1 custom skin based on Android 9 Pie software and is powered by the Snapdragon 665 chipset. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone has up to 6GB RAM, backed by up to 128GB internal storage and microSD card.
In terms of optics, OPPO A5 2020 camera setup consists of 12MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide angle + 2MP portrait + 2MP macro sensors. On the front is an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. The battery capacity of the smartphone is 5,000mAh and has reverse charging support. Other key features of OPPO A5 2020 include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C support, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, and dual-SIM support.
