The OPPO F15 smartphone, which was launched last month in India, will be getting a younger sibling by March-end. Industry sources have informed 91mobiles that the company is gearing up to launch OPPO F15s in the country. This will be first 's' model in the OPPO F series. The OPPO F15s will be a watered-down version of the standard F15 offering and will be positioned in the affordable segment to on Redmi Note 8 and Realme 5. We can expect the smartphone to feature underpowered hardware relative to the F15, but details are not clear at the moment.
Talking about the OPPO F15, the handset has been priced in India at Rs 19,990 for the 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage variant. The phone comes in Unicorn White and Lightning Black colour options and runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1.7 out of the box.
The OPPO F15 touts a sleek design with an ultrathin and lightweight body that measures 7.9mm thickness and 172 grams in weight. The handset sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with 90.7 percent screen ratio, waterdrop notch, Widevine L1 support, and an In-Display Fingerprint Unlock 3.0 biometric scanner. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P70 chipset paired with Game Mode 2.0, gaming voice changer, and in-game noise cancellation effect. It's equipped with 128GB storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB using microSD card.
For photography, the OPPO F15s sports quad-camera setup with 48MP (f/1.79) primary sensor, 8MP (f/2.25) wide-angle macro lens, 2MP (f/2.4) mono lens, and 2MP (f/2.4) portrait sensor. The cameras are backed by features such as 119-degree field-of-view, 3-8cm macro with autofocus, 10x digital zoom, EIS stabilisation, night mode, and bokeh mode. The front camera of the phone gets a 16MP (f/2.0) shooter for selfies and video chats. A 4,000mAh battery with 20W VOOC flash charging 3.0 support rounds off the specs sheet of the OPPO F15 smartphone.
