“OPPO Reno S will have be the most expensive Reno phone in India yet and will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor”
OPPO is gearing up to launch a new smartphone, named Reno S, in the Indian market, 91mobiles has learnt from industry sources. The OPPO Reno S will have a 64MP primary sensor on the back and will support 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast-charging tech. The handset will be launched in the Indian market in the first week of December and will be available via offline as well as online stores. Lastly, the source tells us that the OPPO Reno S price in India will be above Rs 40,000.
Considering the high price tag, it is likely the OPPO Reno S smartphone could be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC. OPPO already has the Reno Ace with 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast-charging tech that was launched last month, but it’s limited to China for now. Apart from the 65W charging, it has the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor as well. However, its primary camera has 48MP resolution, which means the Reno S will likely be a new phone altogether rather than a rebranded Reno Ace.
When it launches in December, the OPPO Reno S will be the first smartphone in India with 65W fast-charging support. The Super VOOC 2.0 65W charging tech is claimed to take a 4,000mAh battery from zero to 50 percent in roughly 10 minutes and fully charge it in less than 27 minutes.
OPPO launched the Reno series in India in June this year with the Reno 10X Zoom and Reno smartphones. These were followed by the Reno 2, Reno 2Z, and Reno 2F smartphones in September. Prices of the series have been under Rs 40,000 so far, meaning the Reno S will be the lineup’s most premium offering yet.
