Redmi 9 budget phone has been finally launched in Spain, putting an end to the flow of rumours and leaks in the recent past. The Redmi 9 succeeds the Redmi 8 phone that was launched in 2019 and the handset’s rear design draws inspiration from the POCO X2/Redmi K30 with a circular ring and a gradient design. It has a vertically aligned camera module at the back with a fingerprint sensor towards the bottom, while the fourth lens is placed in a parallel position. Redmi 9 key specifications include a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, full HD+ display and a large 5,020mAh battery.

Redmi 9 price

Redmi 9 has been priced at €149 (approx 12,800) for the 3GB + 32GB model and €179 (around Rs 15,400) for the 4GB + 64GB variant, and comes in Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple, and Ocean Green colours. The handset will be up for pre-orders in Spain between June 15th to 17th and during this period the price will be down by €10 (Rs 860) discount. It will be available via mi.com, mi stores, Amazon, Worten, Carrefour, Alcampo, and Phone House.

Talking about the specifications, the Redmi 9 sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD full HD+ display with 1,080 X 2,340 pixels resolution, 19:5:9 aspect ratio, 400nits brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer and a waterdrop notch. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC coupled with Mali-G52 GPU. It will be available in two variants: 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage that is further expandable via microSD card. The handset boots Android 10 OS with MIUI 11 custom skin on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C. The device also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which resides right underneath the vertical camera array.

As for the optics, the Redmi 9 has quad-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth unit. For selfies and video chats, there is an 8MP snapper on the front. There is a traditional fingerprint sensor at the back for security. A 5,020mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 fast-charging support fuels the phone, while 10W charger is included in the box. It measures 163.32 × 77.01 × 9.1 mm and weighs 198 grams.
