“The upcoming Redmi K30 Pro is also expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC and will feature a 64MP Sony IMX686 camera”
Xiaomi launched the Redmi K30 smartphone in China back in December 2019. Back then, the Pro variant of the device was not announced. While the rumour mill suggests that the Redmi K30 Pro will launch in March 2020, it certainly has not stopped the leaks from popping up every now and then. Recently, a new leak has come up, that hints that the Redmi K30 Pro could feature an OLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a pop-up selfie camera and a large 4,700mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
The latest reveal about the Redmi K30 comes via multiple sources on Weibo. The Redmi K30 Pro will seemingly feature an OLED display instead of an LCD panel as seen on the Redmi K30. The presence of an OLED display could also mean that the Redmi K30 Pro would come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. To recall, the Redmi K30 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner because it has an IPS LCD panel. Additionally, the punch-hole display seen on the Redmi K30 will be replaced by an elevated camera design on the Redmi K30 Pro.
Furthermore, reliable source on Weibo, Digital Chat Station, claims the Redmi K30 Pro will come with a large 4,700mAh battery and will support 33W fast charging. Meanwhile, past reports claims the Redmi K30 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G platform. For optics, the device is reported to rely on the same 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, but the source claims that the lens placement is different from the one found on the Redmi K30.
Meanwhile, Poco India has finally launched the Poco X2 smartphone in India, which is a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 4G smartphone. The device features a quad-camera setup at the back, a dual punch-hole selfie camera setup, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, up to eight gigs of RAM and 256GB of storage options, 4,500mAh battery with 27W fast charging, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset in its heart.
