The Redmi K50 series from Xiaomi has been in the news for quite some time now with leaked information about the smartphones coming out over the past few weeks. This week, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has reaffirms the chipsets that will power two of the Redmi K50 smartphones. According to him the Redmi K50 series will offer four devices wherein two will be powered by the Dimensity 7000 and 9000 chipsets and two by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 8 Gen1.

The tipster further claims that all the latest K50 models will come preinstalled with MIUI 13, right out of the box. Xiaomi 12 and 12X, which are tipped to launch in December also are also expected to come with MIUI 13. MIUI 13 is expected to come with iOS-like widgets, a Smart toolbox, a Front camera assistant, MIUI Pure Mode, a Memory extension, new MIUI+ features, and more customisation features. The MIUI 13 is also expected to be majorly based on Android 12 also.

He also says that the new MediaTek flagship chipsets may not be as powerful as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset.

The Redmi K50 series may come with a gaming edition smartphone just like the Redmi K40 Gaming aka POCO F3 GT. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. The other variant in the series is expected to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 7000 chipset under the hood. The third and the fourth models might get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and Snapdragon 870 chipset.

Redmi K50 Gaming smartphone specifications

As mentioned above, the Redmi K50 gaming edition is tipped to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. On the optics front, the rumours further suggest that the gaming smartphone’s rear camera setup might feature a 64MP primary sensor with either a Sony IMX686 or a Samsung Isocell GW3 sensor. There are also reports which suggest that the E5 LTPO display panel with either 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate might be there with a Quad HD+ screen resolution for enhanced and vibrant gaming

Further, the smartphone is expected to house a 5000mAh battery, with 67W or 120W fast charging support. Lastly, it appears Xiaomi will offer IP68 certification and Corning Gorilla Glass 7 on some models including the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition as well.
