“The Galaxy S10 single-core Geekbench score secures it a place far ahead of any Android smartphone, but its multi-core score is relatively low”
The Samsung Galaxy S10 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC in some markets, while other countries will get the home-grown Exynos 9820 SoC. While the Snapdragon 855-powered phones from the series have paid a visit to Geekbench in the past, the Samsung Galaxy S10 running on Exynos 9820 SoC finally made an appearance on the benchmarking app over the weekend too.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 powered by Exynos 9820 chipset, with model number SM-G973N, on Geekbench has 6GB of RAM and boots Android 9 Pie software. The octa-core processor has clock speed on 1.95GHz, the listing shows. The handset secures 4,382 points and 9,870 points for the single-core and multi-core tests on the benchmarking app, respectively.
Interestingly, the single-core score is higher than that of the Galaxy S10+ (3,413 points), though the multi-core of the bigger model is higher (10,256 points). However, the Galaxy S10’s scores (both single- and multi-core) are lower than those recorded by iPhone XS Max on the app.
The Galaxy S10 is all set to launch on February 20th and will feature an Infinity O display for a hole punched in the display for selfie cameras. It will accompanied by Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy S10+, while a Galaxy S10 5G variant is rumoured to launch a month later. Apart from the Infinity O display, the new series will mark the debut of an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Samsung will reportedly use dual cameras on the back of the Galaxy S10 and one selfie camera, while the Plus model is rumoured to have a triple rear camera setup and two sensors in front. The Lite model, which may be called Galaxy S10 E, will reportedly have single cameras on both the front and back. Lastly, the Galaxy S10 5G may have four rear cameras and two front cameras.
