- Samsung isn’t discontinuing security updates but is reducing the frequency from monthly to quarterly for the Galaxy S20 series, according to a report by Android Authority.
- This applies to the entire lineup including the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and the Galaxy S20 FE as well.
- Samsung has rolled out the March 2024 security updates already so starting now you’ll get the next update in three months.
- While this ensures your phone is still getting security updates, it won’t be entirely protected anymore. So you might want to upgrade your phone if you want it to stay secure and updated.
In addition to the Galaxy S20 series, the Galaxy Note 20 series will also no longer receive monthly security updates. Samsung has already axed the Note lineup but if you’re still holding on to one, this too might be prone to security issues as well.
