Simple Energy will begin operations at its new Hosur facility, the Simple Vision 1.0 plant January 19th onwards with the production of the Simple One premium electric scooter in India. The manufacturing facility has over 2 lakh square feet of space and will be capable of producing up to 1 lakh units per year of the Simple One electric scooter. The Bengaluru-based EV startup has invested over Rs 100 crore in developing this unit to achieve its delivery targets. The Simple One premium electric scooter has deliveries planned for Q1 2023 after being delayed several times post its official unveiling in 2021.

Simple One electric scooter production

Simple Energy has announced that it will start operations at its brand-new production at Hosur, Tamil Nadu in January.

Simple Energy also aims to expand its manufacturing operations to a plant in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu which is expected to have a production capacity of 1.25 lakh units per year.

 

Simple One electric scooter booking, specifications

The Simple One electric scooter is the company’s first EV offering and will go up against the likes of Ather 450X, the Ola S1 series, Bajaj Chetak, TVS i-Qube, Hero Vida V1, and others. The e-scooter gets a 4.5kW electric motor that is rated for 72Nm of peak torque and is paired to a 4.8kWh battery pack. The powertrain is capable of delivering a claimed range of 236km on a single charge and even the e-scooter to a top speed of 105kmph.

The scooter is available for bookings on the company’s official website for Rs 1,947. Simple Energy has conducted the test rides of its premium electric scooter in 12 Indian cities which include Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow and Bhubaneshwar.
