Nubia’s 24GB RAM phone launch

  • The Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro is set to launch in China on July 5th.
  • The Weibo account of Nubia confirms the phone will come with 24GB RAM, and this is not including virtual RAM or an extension feature.
  • The handset is confirmed to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version with a peak clock speed of 3.36GHz.
  • In comparison, the standard model has a clock speed of 3.19GHz.
  • Nubia’s RedMagic lineup is aimed at gamers, and the 8S Pro doesn’t seem all that different going by the teaser images.
  • The massive 24GB RAM support should boost the multitasking capabilities of a smartphone but this could very well be an overkill for the majority of users.

Besides Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro, Realme and OnePlus are also rumoured to be working on phones with 24GB RAM. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will be the first and is set to debut next month. As for Realme, no details are available about the phone with 24GB RAM.

Nubia is also expected to introduce a new gaming tablet at the same event on July 5th. The specifications are expected to remain largely similar to the RedMagic 8 Pro that debuted globally earlier this year. This means we are likely to see a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, a 6000mAh battery, 50MP triple rear camera setup, 16MP under-display front camera, and 80W fast charging.
