This week in tech was a mixed bag of events. While there wasn’t anything major we did get updates on devices that are slated to launch soon. Dates for Amazon and Flipkart’s major festive sales were also revealed. The iPhone 15 Pro Max also had a disappointing incident this week. 

Let’s take a look at each of these events and more. 

iPhone 15 Pro Max durability test

The iPhone 15 Pro Max miserably failed a bend test where its glass back broke instantly. It was so bad that the glass shattered completely. The iPhone continued to work properly with the frame also intact but the back is gone. This time, Apple replaced stainless steel for titanium in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. While this is supposed to make the iPhone stronger, the result was quite the opposite.

Amazon, Flipkart sale dates revealed

The Amazon Great Indian Festival and Flipkart Big Billion Days sales are scheduled to start on October 8th. The Amazon sale will start a day earlier on October 7th for Prime members. Both sales are set to go big with discounts and offers on various products across categories. Amazon and Flipkart have already started teasing few deals and offers for the sale.

Google Pixel 8 series leak

The Google Pixel 8 series is launching on October 4th. Ahead of the launch, the full spec sheet of both the phones have leaked online. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will come with OLED displays, Google Tensor G3 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM and 50MP primary cameras. Google is also said to provide seven years of OS and security updates. 

CMF by Nothing debuts in India 

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF finally debuted with three products – Buds Pro, Watch Pro and  65W GaN charger. All three products are priced under Rs 5,000. The Buds Pro come with up to 11 hours of battery life with ANC off. The Watch Pro features a 1.96-inch AMOLED display, up to 13 days of battery life, and an IP68 rating for water resistance.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE leak

An ‘accidental’ leak revealed that Samsung is launching the Galaxy S23 FE, the Galaxy Buds FE and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE on October 4th. This information was spotted on the Samsung Argentina website, which more or less confirms that it is official. All three products are slated to launch in India as well based on teasers shared by Samsung.
