There’s a lot of brewing in the tech world especially in the smartphone industry with new upcoming launches. iQOO 12 is launching in India on December 12th, and its supposed pricing was leaked. OnePlus 12 global and India launch date was also leaked online. We also spotted the Galaxy S24+ on BIS suggesting an imminent launch.
This week in tech, a new Nothing phone showed up, and this one seems to be a more affordable offering. WhatsApp also rolled out a new feature that will keep your locked chats even more secure.

iQOO 12 India price leaked
iQOO 12 series debuted in China last month, and it’s coming to India on December 12th. Ahead of the launch, the alleged pricing of iQOO 12 was leaked online by tipster Mukul Sharma. The actual price hasn’t been revealed but it will most likely be under Rs 60,000 as it shows Rs 5X,999 in the box. The tipster also suggests the iQOO 12 will cost Rs 56,999 or fall between Rs 53,000 and Rs 55,000. It’s also said to launch in two variants of 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB.
WhatsApp secret codes
WhatsApp secret codes feature has been introduced for locked chats. With secret codes, you can hide your locked chats from the chat list. Once you set a secret code, you can enter it in the search bar and your locked chats folder will show up. So this way you can keep your locked chats completely hidden with only you having access to it. Secret codes basically adds another layer of privacy to locked chats.
Nothing Phone 2a in the works
Nothing Phone 2a is reportedly in the works. A leaked image shows the familiar LED strip on the back panel, and a transparent design. It also looks like the Nothing Phone 2a will have a boxy chassis with rounded edges. Nothing Phone 2a is also tipped to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a punch-hole selfie camera, and dual rear cameras. As the name suggests, Nothing Phone 2a will most likely be a more affordable version of the Phone (2).
OnePlus 12 India launch date leaked
OnePlus 12 is debuting in China on December 5th. The global and India launch date hasn’t been revealed yet but the OnePlus 12 promotional website suggests it could take place on January 24th. This isn’t confirmed yet but in all likeliness January 24th is the OnePlus 12 India launch date. OnePlus 12 is launching with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 64MP periscope lens.
Samsung Galaxy S24+ spotted on BIS
Samsung Galaxy S24+ was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. The BIS listing doesn’t reveal any other information about the device but does confirm its imminent launch in India. Galaxy S24+ is rumoured to feature a flat display, and a design similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23+. It could be powered with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and the Exynos 2400 depending on the market. The smartphone is also tipped to pack a 4,900mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
