Vivo is set to launch the Y81i smartphone in the Indian market in the next few weeks, according to 91mobiles' retail chain sources. However, an exact date for the Vivo Y81i India launch could not be ascertained at the moment. The smartphone was launched last month in Malaysia, sports an iPhone X-like display notch, and is an entry-level smartphone. Its key features include the large 6.22-inch screen, Face Access facial unlocking tech, and 3,260mAh battery.

Vivo Y81i price in India will be under Rs 10,000, meaning it will be a rival to Xiaomi's popular Redmi 6-series smartphones. It remains to be seen whether this model will be available only offline or if it will come to online channels as well. The original Vivo Y81 handset costs Rs 11,990 in the Indian market and can be purchased both online and offline.
The Vivo Y81i has a 6.22-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1,520 pixel) resolution and runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0 custom software. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6761 processor with 2GB of RAM and comes with 16GB internal storage. There is no fingerprint sensor but buyers can unlock the handset using face unlock.
