WhatsApp for Mac

  • The new WhatsApp for Mac was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook, and through the Meta Channel on Instagram.
  • According to the company, “The app is redesigned to be familiar to Mac users, helping you get more done faster when using WhatsApp on a large screen.”
  • The new and redesigned WhatsApp for Mac comes with the ability to make group calls straight from your device. You can make video calls with up to eight people, and audio calls with up to 32 people.
  • You can also join group calls even after it’s started just like you would on WhatsApp for Android or iOS.
  • This native WhatsApp also lets you see your call history, and receive incoming call notifications even when the app is closed.
  • More features in WhatsApp for Mac include sharing files easily by dragging and dropping into a chat. You’ll also be able to view more of your chat history.

Download WhatsApp for Mac

If you have a Mac system, you can download the app from WhatsApp’s website. The app will also be able to download from the App Store soon. Do note that this isn’t the WhatsApp Desktop app that’s currently available on the App Store. This is the old app that doesn’t have the features mentioned above. If you’re not up for a native WhatsApp app on your Mac, you can still choose to use WhatsApp Web on any browser.
