Xiaomi 14 launch timeline (expected)
Prolific tipster DigitalChatStation has been dropping hints about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo. Although he doesn’t specifically take the name, we believe he is talking about Xiaomi 14 Ultra as he suggests in a recent post that the phone is “tentatively scheduled for Q1, 2024”. From a previous IMEI database leak, we learned the Ultra could launch in March 2024, i.e., quarter 1.
If you recall, the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra also had a similar interval between their launch.
Now, the post that talks about the launch timeline also mentions the phone in question, i.e., the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could bring a “slightly curved screen” and “full-focal length image”.
Here’s what we know so far about those Xiaomi 14 Ultra features:
Xiaomi 14 Ultra specifications (expected)
- Cameras: Again, as per DigitalChatStation, Xiaomi (along with Vivo and OPPO) is testing the Sony Lytia LYT-900 camera with a 1-inch sensor size on its upcoming phone. This is expected to be the Xiaomi 14 Ultra only. The sensor could bring the Dual Conversion Gain technology for a better dynamic range and details in photos.
The main sensor could be accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide sensor, a 50MP 3x zoom sensor with macro mode, and another 50MP 5x zoom sensor.
- Processor: We are expecting the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to feature the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset as its siblings.
- Display: The front of the phone could be a 2K panel with slight curves on the edges.
- Software: Like the other Xiaomi 14 phones, this one too could flaunt Android 14-based HyperOS.
