HMD Global is quickly making moves to introduce HMD phones and slowly move away from Nokia branding. The company has changed the graphics on its website and updated the same with new smartphone designs. There are reports that a total of three phones could be introduced in the first batch and these might debut around April. Now, nine new HMD-branded phones have been listed on the IMEI database. Check out the details.
HMD phones’ launch nears
- The nine new HMD-branded phones spotted (via) on the IMEI database bear the model numbers TA-1584, TA-1594, TA-1595, TA-1588, TA-1589, TA-1592, TA-1602, TA-1605, and TA-1631.
- While the database listing doesn’t reveal any details about the phones, we only know the model numbers for now.
- There are chances these could be different RAM/storage variants of the first set of phones or entirely different phones altogether.
- The HMD website has been updated with new smartphone graphics and these show in Green, Pink, and Blue colours.
- One of the devices will feature a 108MP primary camera with OIS.
- 91mobiles had exclusively shared the renders of one of the phones and this revealed the design.
The updated website, as said, includes three phones in bright colours. The design outline looks similar to Nokia Lumia phones from back in the day. One of the phones has a large rectangular module on the back, rounded corners and angled edges. The other one has vertically strapped triple cameras, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom.
With the new funky designs, HMD intends to target millennials. The HMD-branded models are reported to being sold online, while Nokia phones could be targeting the offline markets. No hardware specifications of the phones are revealed at the moment but we should learn more details shortly.
