While this is a big deal, there is no timeline set for the commercial launch of a Realme foldable phone just yet. Realme’s MagDart magnetic charging system is still due to launch though it is being optimised at the moment as the current versions involve several compromises for users. The key constraint is the available space inside MagDart compatible devices which results in phones that are too thick or have small battery capacities.
The top executive further elaborated on the brand’s decision to include a 3MP microscope camera on the Realme GT 2 Pro instead of a telephoto module as it offers functionality that can’t be matched by the other two sensors. Realme says that it believes the microscope lens will offer close enough results to telephoto cameras via digital zoom and crops from the main sensors, paired with its computational photography software.
