“Apple is expected to introduce three new iPhone models at its event next month”
Apple is expected to launch the much-awaited 10th anniversary iPhone 8 alongside the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus in September. Now Wall Street Journal reports that the Cupertino tech giant has scheduled a product announcement on September 12th in the US, where the next-gen iPhones could be unveiled. However, the brand hasn’t yet sent press invites for the same.
Citing people briefed on Apple’s plans, the report says that the company will introduce the new iPhones and a smartwatch well ahead of the holiday shopping season.
The report claims that the 10th-anniversary iPhone will feature an edge-to-edge display and facial-recognition technology, and will be a pricier offering. The iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus are expected to come with an updated glass back design and wireless charging technology.
As for the next-gen Apple Watch, WSJ reports that the smartwatch will come with an LTE cellular chip, which will allow it to pull data directly from wireless services, thus eliminating the need to pair it with an iPhone for connectivity.
