Zuckerberg reviews Apple Vision Pro

  • Zuck tried out the Vision Pro, and had a lot to say about the overall product value, its features and how the Quest 3 is “not just a better value product, but it is a better product, period.”
  • He highlights the Quest’s design and how it’s more comfortable weighing 120gms lesser with no wires. Zuck also says that the field of view is wider, and the Quest offers a brighter screen. The Vision Pro does have a higher resolution but compromises on several other things.
  • Zuck also says that the Vision Pro has motion blur when you move around, while the Quest is a lot crisper. Both headsets support hand tracking but Quest is said to more accurate.
  • Zuck does say Apple’s eye tracking saying is “really nice.” He adds that the Vision Pro has a nice interface too but not for typing or complex tasks. You would need additional devices for such tasks.
  • Quest’s content library is also a lot deeper, which makes sense since Meta has been working on its mixed reality headsets for years. Also if you want to watch YouTube or play Xbox on a big screen anywhere, you can do that only on the Quest.
  • Zuck concludes by saying that people though the Vision Pro would be of higher quality since it’s from Apple and costs $3,000 more but the Quest is much better for vast majority of things.

The Meta Quest 3 starts at $499, while the Vision Pro has a starting price of $3,499. This is Apple’s first mixed reality headset so there would be certain limitations but Zuck did point out some key areas where the Quest outperforms the Vision Pro, and for a much cheaper price tag.
