Black Shark 2 will feature e-sports grade battery; 60 percent more battery performance assured

Xiaomi-backed gaming smartphone brand – Black Shark recently announced on Weibo that its next gaming smartphone will be launched in China on March 18th. The latest Black Shark gaming smartphone comes as the successor to the Black Shark Helo and is a major upgrade over its brethren. The company has already confirmed that the Black Shark 2 will come with an all new Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology. Now, the phonemaker has announced a better battery tech for the upcoming phone.

Peter Wu, CEO of Black Shark took to Weibo to say that one of the most crucial aspect for any gaming smartphone is the battery life as they drain significantly faster due to heavy gaming. The executive went on to assure that the company is working on a solution to address this issue in the upcoming Black Shark 2. Wu said that the newest smartphone will feature an e-sports grade battery. The battery boasts of optimized battery chemical system and features tweaked charge and discharge algorithm. This results an increase in the charging and discharging performance by 60 percent. Earlier the top executive also confirmed the presence of Liquid Cooling 3.0 in the phone. The image shared by Wu also confirmed the presence of Snapdragon 855 on the Black Shark 2.

As of now, no other concrete details about the upcoming smartphone are known. However, the leaks in past have suggested that the smartphone will be offered in an 8GB + 128GB configuration along with a 12GB variant as well. While the display details are not known at the moment, a Geekbench spotting suggested that the screen will have a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. Other leaked details of the handset include 27W fast charging and vertical dual camera arrangement on the back. 

Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the Black Shark 2 at this point. We will know more on March 18th when the handset goes official.
