boAt’s first-ever smart ring was announced a month back but without the price and availability details. Although we have no updates on that front yet, some screengrabs of what it looks like the boAt Ring’s app store listing have appeared online. These images, shared by tipster Mukul Sharma, reveal key boAt Ring features.
boAt smart Ring features
According to the screenshots, these may be the standout features of boAt’s first-ever smart Ring:
- Body temperature sensor: The boAt ring could have the ability to measure body temperature, which even pricier smartwatches like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 don’t possess. The latter comes with a skin temperature sensor only.
- Essential health trackers: Commonly sought-after health sensors like heart rate (possibly 24/7), blood oxygen levels, and sleep should be available on the wearable. These features are commonly found on smartwatches.
- Smart activity tracking and body recovery tracking: Besides tracking steps, calories, and sports activities, boAt also lets you know the recovery status of your body so that you know when and how much rest you need.
- SOS for emergency situations and motion sensing for measuring the body’s position and movements. The latter probably aids in the SOS feature and fitness tracking. The boAt ring could probably be used and controlled using single-hand movements.
- Build and wearability: Since the boAt smart ring comes with ceramic and metal build, along with 5ATM water resistance, we can expect a decently durable product. The water resistance should let you enjoy low-velocity and shallow-water activities up to 50 meters in depth.
- Battery life: The boAt Ring could last 7 days on battery and support smart charging using a proprietary adapter. It appears to be available in 3 sizes viz. 17.40mm, 19.15mm, and 20.85mm.
Smart rings in India
Besides the upcoming boAt ring, we are also awaiting the pricing and availability details of the Noise Luna Ring. Also, we have seen patents for smart rings by Samsung and Apple. However, the India availability of those isn’t confirmed yet.
