Canon EOS-1D Mark III professional DSLR camera has been announced, and it succeeds the 1D X Mark II that was launched way back in 2016. The new camera brings a new sensor, a new Digic X image processor, a new autofocus system and revamped controls. It features a 20.1-megapixel sensor and has a new High Detail Low-Pass filter that claims to offer sharper images. The Canon EOS-1D Mark III DSLR can snap shots up to 16 frames per second through the viewfinder or up to 20 frames per second with live view, complete with subject-tracking autofocus. The sensor has Dual Pixel autofocus technology and rocks 3,869 selectable AF positions and 525 automatic areas in live view shooting.
The Canon EOS-1D Mark III camera has eye-detection autofocus when used in live view. The new Digic X processor allows for the native ISO range of 100-102, 400 that can be expanded up to 50-819,200. It can shoot over 1,000 images in a burst when using the dual CFexpress card slots. The new 191-point autofocus system in the viewfinder uses its own Digic 8 processor and can track subjects and faces. In terms of video, the Canon Mark III can record 5.5K RAW footage and uncropped 4K 60fps in 10-bit 4:2:2 C-Log.
The Canon Mark III comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and an Ethernet port. It measures 158 x 167.6 x 82.6 mm and weighs around 1.2 kgs. There is auto white balance with the imaging sensor and has Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Tungsten light, White Fluorescent light, Flash, Custom, colour temperature settings. It has a 3.2-inch TFT display with approx 2.1 million dots and 38 custom functions. The Canon EOS-1D Mark III professional DSLR camera is priced at $6,500 (around Rs 4,66,920) for the body only and will be available from February 2020.
