Flipkart has sold more than a million Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime units

Flipkart has announced that it has sold more than one million units of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime smartphones. The budget smartphones were launched in the country in August, and were available exclusively on Flipkart and Mi.com. It’s worth mentioning that the Redmi 3S and 3S Prime were also the best-selling products on Flipkart during its Big Billion Days sale last month. The e-tailer also mentions that these devices have been rated a 4.2 star in the ‘below 12k’ segment in smartphones.

To recap, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S (first impressions) and Redmi 3S Prime (review) are priced at Rs 6,999 and Rs 8,999 respectively. Ironically, at the time of writing the news, both of these phones are out of stock and are listed as coming soon on Flipkart. That said, the Redmi 3S and 3S Prime share quite a few specs, including metal unibody designs, 5-inch HD IPS displays, MIUI 7 based on Marshmallow, octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoCs, 13MP/5MP cameras, 4G, VoLTE, and beefy 4,100mAh batteries.

As for the differences, the Redmi 3S comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, while the Redmi 3S Prime variant offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. In addition, the latter also gets a fingerprint sensor.
