After launching the A1 (first impressions) in India in March, Gionee has now launched a special A1 Signature Edition smartphone in collaboration with its brand ambassador and Indian cricket team skipper, Virat Kohli. The brand hopes to connect with the fans of flamboyant cricketer with the new smartphone.

The smartphone features an all black metal unibody design with Virat Kohli’s signature inscribed on the back. The specifications remain the same. To recap, the A1 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display with a fingerprint sensor in the front. It features a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and LED flash, along with a 13MP unit with dual LED flash on the rear panel. On the performance front, this handset has 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, mated to 4GB of RAM. The onboard storage on this device has been pegged at 64GB, which can be further expanded upto 256GB using a microSD card. The device is equipped with a 4,010mAh battery, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Amigo UI 4.0 on top.

There has been no change in the pricing of the handset as it comes with a tag of Rs 19,999, and it will be Amazon exclusive. Gionee has opened the pre-booking of the device starting today, however, it will go on sale at 12 noon on June 27^th. Gionee is bundling a pair of Sennheiser headphones for those who pre-order the smartphone.
