If you have filed your Income Tax Return (ITR) and are waiting for the refund to be credited to your bank account, here is a quick and simple step-by-step guide on how to track it.

How to check ITR refund status 2023 with login

• Firstly, use a computer device and open a browser application such as Google Chrome.
• Go to the e-Filing portal using this link: https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
• Click on the Login button at top-right and Login using your User ID, Aadhaar or PAN number and password.
• If you encounter a pop-up message saying your PAN is inoperative, link your PAN with Aadhaar by referring to our earlier feature.

• Upon login, click  e-File > Income Tax Returns > View Filed Returns in the top menu bar.
• On the View Filed Returns webpage, you will be able to access all the returns filed by you. You will be able to download ITR-V Acknowledgement, complete ITR form in PDF, and also the intimation order for each filing by using the options.
• After clicking on the A.Y. 2023-23, you can view the details and check the status of your latest filing.

How to check ITR refund status 2023 without login

• Open a browser application on your computer device.
• Visit the official e-Filing portal through this link: https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
• Click on Income Tax Return (ITR) Status in the sidebar of the homepage.
• On the Income Tax Return (ITR) Status page, enter the acknowledgement number of your filing and your phone number. Click Continue.
• You will then be asked to enter a 6-digit OTP that you will receive through an SMS.
• After entering the correct details, you will be able to check your Income Tax Return status.
