The Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design smartphones are all set to foray into the premium smartphone segment of the Indian market. The company will take the wraps off the flagship Mate 20 Pro along with the limited edition Mate 20 RS Porsche Design model at an event in New Delhi today. The handsets that were launched globally in October come with several high-end features that look good at least on paper. Straight off the bat, the Mate 20 series is the first Android smartphone to rock 7nm mobile platform and a reverse wireless charging feature. Other than that, the smartphones flaunt triple rear cameras, a beefy battery, and curved notch-toting display.

Both Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design ship with the same hardware. The only notable difference is the design. The Porsche edition comes with artisan leather back with a glass strip running through the middle, while the standard Mate 20 Pro has a polished glass-sandwich design and Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Pink Gold, Twilight, and Black colour variants.
As for the specifications, both the handsets come with a 6.39-inch OLED display, optical fingerprint scanner, 3D Face Recognition tech, 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast-charging support. They are powered by the latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor that has dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI. The SoC is paired with 6GB/ 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. It remains to be seen if both the configurations are heading to India or just the 6GB + 128GB one.
In the camera department, the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS sports a 40MP + 20MP + 8MP triple camera setup, while the front camera features a 24MP selfie unit. The handsets boot Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out of the box.
The price in India of Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS is the only piece missing from the puzzle here. We'll update you once it is out. Meanwhile, both the flagship offerings from Huawei will retail exclusively on Amazon.in.
