PhonePe’s Indus Appstore launched in India
- The Indus Appstore is designed to provide developers with an alternative distribution channel to tap into the Indian Android market.
- The Appstore provides a self-publishing platform, localization services, multiple tools to monitor and grow their apps, and dedicated 24-hour customer support.
- The Appstore is available in 12 different regional languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and more.
- Users can toggle between the languages, which will change not only the app content but also the app name, videos, and app descriptions.
- The Indus Appstore will feature a dedicated destination called “Launch Pad” to provide new apps with better visibility and search optimisation.
- The Appstore developer platform will be free for the first year, after which the platform will start charging an annual fee.
- The Indus Appstore will also not levy any commission fee for in-app purchases and allow integration with the separate payment gateways.
- Some popular apps on the platform include the likes of Swiggy, Zomato, Myntra, Disney+ Hotstar, Domino’s Pizza, and more.
