Samsung and Motorola bendable phones are just in the concept stage at the moment.
As said, this is in the concept stage at the moment and is only meant to showcase the flexibility of the OLED screen from the Samsung Display division. Besides this, the company also showcased other concepts, including small circular screens on top of the wireless headphones and charging cases for TWS earbuds. This shows the charging levels, media that is being played, equalizer, audio modes, and other information.
Motorola unveiled its own version of the bendable phone at the MWC 2024. The Adaptive Display on the phone can apparently bend into a variety of forms to fit different user needs. One among them is the ability to wrap around the wrist. Motorola says that this first mode can pair with one of its AI-powered outfit-matching wallpapers.
We get a 6.9-inch pOLED screen and the Adaptive Display can bend the top half upward and this creates a curved 4.6-inch screen on your wrist. This makes it perfect for scrolling social feeds or video calls. The tent mode comes in handy if you want to watch videos on a tiny screen.
For better fit on hands, the back panel of the phone is covered in fabric. But similar to Samsung, the Motorola phone is still a concept model and we will never know if the company will ever have a working commercial model of the phone but we will be looking forward.
