“The Nokia 1 is now the most affordable Android Go smartphone from a major brand”
HMD Global, the licensee brand of Nokia smartphones, has decided to make its most popular smartphones more accessible to the masses in India. To that extent, the company has reduced the prices of the Nokia 1 (first impressions), Nokia 2.1, and Nokia 6.1 Plus (review) 6GB + 64GB variant in India. The smartphones are already available at the reduced prices.

The Nokia 1 has become one of the cheapest Android Go smartphones from a premium brand with a new price tag of Rs 3,999, which is a drop of Rs 1,000. With the new price, the smartphone has undercut the Redmi Go to become the cheapest Android Go offering in India. The Nokia 2.1 also received a price cut of Rs 1,000 and can now be picked up for Rs 5,499. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the Nokia 6.1 Plus, on the other hand, is Rs 1,500 cheaper and can be bought for Rs 16,999. HMD Global is also offering HDFC debit and credit card users a 15 percent cashback between April 5 and April 20.

Talking about specifications, Nokia 1 is an Android Go phone, which means it boots Android 8.1 Oreo (Go) Edition out of the box. The smartphone ships with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display and is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor. In the imaging department, the phone features 5MP rear snapper and a 2MP front shooter. A 2,150mAh battery rounds up the spec sheet of the handset.
The Nokia 2.1 offers a 5.5-inch HD display and gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor at its core. the chipset is mated to 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage. The smartphone is also an Android Go phone and runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box. There is an 8MP camera on the rear and 5MP shooter on the front for selfies. The phone is backed by a beefy 4,000mAh battery.
Lastly, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is equipped with a a 5.8-inch full-HD+ screen and octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC at its core. The processor is mated to either 4GB or 6GB RAM depending on the variant. For imaging, the phone offers a 16MP shooter and a 5MP monochrome sensor with LED flash on the rear. There is a 16MP sensor in the front for selfies and video calling. As for the software, the phone boots stock Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 3,060mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
