OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8T receive new OxygenOS update with October security patch

OnePlus has rolled out a new stable OxygenOS update to its Oneplus 8 and OnePlus 8T devices, with the October 2021 security patch. Read on to know more.

Highlights

OnePlus has pushed a new stable channel OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T phones. The update brings the October 2021 security patch, bug fixes, and a couple of minor improvements. This comes in after OnePlus had pushed out the OxygenOS 11.0.8.8/11.0.9.9/11.0.10.10 to their OnePlus 8 series back in August. The August update added features like new Bitmoji AOD, optimisations for portrait mode on the selfie camera, and a new Android security patch. The new OxygenOS update from OnePlus comes in via posts on OnePlus Community forums. The update is minor and will be rolled out in a phase-wise manner. The initial reach will be small and after the company confirms the stability of the software devoid of any major issues, the update will reach the larger user base.
