OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G receives BIS certification ahead of India launch

OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G India launch was teased earlier this month and it now seems the phone’s arrival is just around the corner. The device with model number CPH2201 was spotted at the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification site by tipster Mukul Sharma, which suggests the phone will be released soon. For those out of the loop, the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G was launched in China alongside the vanilla Reno5 5G earlier this month. Yesterday, the company also introduced the OPPO Reno5 Pro+ 5G in China. There is no word yet on whether the regular Reno5 and Reno5 Pro+ will be launching in India.

Some key OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G specs include a 6.55-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is interrupted by a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. It will be one of the first smartphones in India to run MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 1000+ chipset, which was officially launched in India earlier this week. The 5G-ready chipset can be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. 

On the camera side of things, the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G comes with four rear cameras in total. The 64MP primary camera is assisted by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP portrait lens. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 32MP front-facing camera. The OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G’s 4,350mAh battery supports fast charging at up to 65W. It is available in four colourways, namely Starry Night, Aurora Blue, Moonlight Black, and Star Wish Red. OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G price in China starts at RMB 3,399 (approx Rs 38,300) and we expect a similar price in India as well.
