OPPO to release Android 11-based ColorOS 11 on September 14th, starts beta testing

OPPO has confirmed that it will start the ColorOS beta testing with four smartphones including, OPPO Find X2, Find X2 Pro, Reno3 and Reno3 Pro.

After multiple public beta updates and speculations, Google has finally released the stable version of Android 11 for its Pixel lineup and partnered with other brands including OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Realme to make it available for the masses. Now, OPPO has started rolling out the Beta version of Android 11-based ColorOS UI for its smartphones and will launch the next-generation ColorOS 11 on September 14th. The company revealed this on its official Twitter handle. OPPO has confirmed that some users will be able to download the first ColorOS 11 beta builds starting September 8th. The company has also revealed a list of devices that will be available for beta testing.

List of devices getting ColorOS 11 Beta update

The list includes OPPO Find X2, Find X2 Pro, Reno3, and Reno3 Pro. The brand says the beta testing is limited to 2,000 users for Reno3 and Reno3 Pro and is currently available only in Malaysia. Similarly, the beta version will be available for the same number of Find X2 and Find X2 Pro users. Those in India, Thailand, and Indonesia will be able to download the ColorOS 11 beta update for these two Find series models.

The company will host an online event on September 14th to release ColorOS 11. During the event, the company will likely detail all the new features that have been in the pipeline over the last few months and users will get a better idea on what to expect from the latest version of ColorOS 11. The company might also reveal the timeline for releasing the update along with the list of devices that will get the latest version of Android.

We can expect ColorOS 11 to come with most of the goodness that Android 11 brings to the table. The latest operating system from Google comes loaded with features such as Facebook-style bubble interface, easy controls for smart home devices, built-in screen recording, better media controls, and more. The company has also introduced some Pixel-exclusive features like Live View with location sharing, better screenshots and text selection, AI-based Smart Replies, and more.
