- POCO M2 Pro specifications may include the Snapdragon 720G SoC and 6GB RAM
- Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is also powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset
- POCO X2 comes with the Snapdragon 730G SoC at Rs 17,499
POCO M2 Pro specifications have reportedly been spotted on Geekbench ahead of the phone’s launch in India on July 7th. Up until now, it wasn’t clear whether the POCO M2 Pro will be priced higher or lower than the POCO X2, but the Geekbench listing spotted by MySmartPrice seems to make things a little clear. It seems the POCO M2 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset paired with 6GB RAM. This suggests the POCO M2 Pro price in India will be lower than the Snapdragon 730G-powered POCO X2.
If the alleged Geekbench specifications are true, then the POCO M2 Pro will be powered by the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 720G chipset, which also happens to power the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. This is a gaming-centric mid-range processor based on an 8nm process that was announced earlier this year and looks to be slightly more powerful than the older Snapdragon 730G SoC, at least on paper.
The alleged POCO M2 Pro specifications and the quad camera layout all seem to suggest that the phone will be a rebranded or a watered down version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, although we cannot say this for sure until the company reveals the phone completely. With the POCO X2 selling at under Rs 20,000 in the country, we speculate that the POCO M2 Pro will be a sub-Rs 15,000 smartphone. POCO M2 Pro will launch in India on July 7th and will go on sale on Flipkart.
