“The Sony Xperia XA1 and Xa1 Ultra flaunt Edge to Edge displays and 23MP cameras”
Sony launched its mid-rangers, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra (first impressions) earlier this year at MWC. These devices were launched in India recently for Rs 19,990 and Rs 29,990 for XA1 and XA1 Ultra, respectively. Now, ahead of the upcoming festive season, the brand has introduced a sizeable price cut for both handsets. While Sony Xperia XA1 can be picked up for Rs 17,990, Xperia XA1 Ultra will be available for Rs 27,990. The handsets are already up for grabs on major channels with the new price tag.
To recap, the Xperia XA1 Ultra is the larger of two with 6-inch full HD display, whereas, the Xperia XA1 gets a 5-inch HD display. Both smartphones have octa-core Helio P20 SoCs ticking at their cores, however, XA1 Ultra has 4GB RAM as compared to 3GB on XA1. In terms of storage, the Xperia XA1 gets 32GB of expandable storage and XA1 Ultra gets an additional 64GB variant as well. On the software front, both devices are running Android Nougat with the proprietary Sony skin running on top. Coming to optics, both devices get 23MP rear cameras with hybrid autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. However, things differ on the front panel as Ultra variant features a 16MP selfie camera with autofocus and OIS. The XA1 sports an 8MP shooter also with autofocus, but misses out on OIS. In terms of battery, the XA1 gets a 2,400mAh unit, while the XA1 Ultra is fuelled by a larger 2,700mAh cell. Both come with support for quick charging.
Sony is offering the XA1 and XA1 Ultra in black, white, pink and gold hues, and they are already on sale in major e-commerce websites as well as brick and mortar stores. The price drop comes as a permanent change and is here to stay.
