- Realme 8 5G has received India’s BIS and Thailand’s NBTC certifications
- The handset bears model numbers RMX3241 and RMX3242
- Realme 8 India launch is later today, but only the 4G variant is expected for now
Realme 8 series is all set to launch in India later today and will include the standard model and Realme 8 Pro model. Though there were rumours about a Realme 8 Pro 5G, recent reports suggest that only the 4G variant of the entry-level model will be launching in India today. Now, ahead of the launch event, the 5G variant of Realme 8 has been certified by India’s BIS and Thailand’s NBTC with model number RMX3241, as spotted by MySmartPrice. The latter also confirms the marketing name of the phone. The BIS certification also lists Realme RMX3242, which could be a RAM/storage variant of the phone.
Unfortunately, neither listings reveal anything about the phone just yet but we can speculate Realme may tease the 5G variant at the Realme 8 series India launch event.
Realme 8 and 8 Pro specifications (rumoured)

It’ll have an AMOLED panel with a high refresh-rate screen. It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that should be further expandable. A 5,000mAh battery with 50W fast-charging support could fuel the phone. It is confirmed to boot Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 custom skin out of the box. Connectivity features could include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.
