Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 9 as a watered-down version of Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. It’s the third and most-affordable offering in the company’s Redmi Note 9 lineup. The Redmi Note 9 has similar design language as its siblings, including near bezel-less punch-hole display, Aura Balance design with Gorilla Glass 5, and quad cameras in a squarish module at the back. The only notable difference is fingerprint scanner: the Redmi Note 9 has it at the back panel, whereas the Redmi Note 9 Pro and 9 Pro Max sport a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Redmi Note 9 price in India starts at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The phone also comes with 4GB RAM +128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage options, priced at Rs 13,499 and Rs 14,999, respectively. The handset will go on sale in India from July 24th onwards at 12pm via Amazon India and the brand’s own website in Pebble Grey, Arctic White, and Aqua Green colours. The handset will be made available via the brand’s offline stores and retail partners too.

The handset rocks MediaTek Helio G85 SoC under the hood, which is paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage is further expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card. The phone comes pre-loaded with MIUI 11 atop Android 10 out of the box to take care of the software side of things. The Redmi Note 9 is driven by a 5,020mAh battery that is rated to last up to 2 days and supports 22.5W fast charging tech.

The phone includes four cameras comprising 48MP wide-angle primary sensor, 8MP 118-degree wide-angle sensor, 2MP macro sensor, and 2MP depth sensor.
