Redmi Note 9 has been launched in India as the latest affordable offering from the brand. The handset is positioned below Redmi Note 9 Pro (review), with which it shares a handful of specifications. The Redmi Note 9 sports the same Aura Design, punch-hole display with FHD+ resolution, quad rear cameras headed by 48MP primary sensor, and a beefy 5,020mAh battery. For the asking price of Rs 11,999, the handset competes against the likes of Realme Narzo 10 (review). The latter is retailing in India with a similar price tag and has almost similar specifications. Redmi Note 9 vs Realme Narzo 10: price

The Redmi Note 9 price in India is set at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option. The phone’s 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants have been priced at Rs 13,499 and Rs 14,999 respectively. The handset comes in three colour options, namely Aqua Green, Arctic White, and Pebble Grey, and will go on sale starting at 12 pm IST from June 24th through Amazon.in, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.

The Realme Narzo 10 is priced at Rs 11,999 for the sole 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone is available on flash sale via Realme’s official website and Flipkart in That green, That blue, and That white colours.

Redmi Note 9 vs Realme Narzo 10: design

The Redmi Note 9 and Realme Narzo 10 both feature different designs. The Redmi phone is for those looking for a punch-hole display with quad camera setup symmetrically aligned in the squarish module at the back. Just below the camera setup, the Redmi Note 9 has a fingerprint scanner for security. All the buttons for power and volume rocker are housed on phone’s right spine, while the Type-C port for charging is sandwiched in between the 3.5mm headphone jack and speaker grille at the bottom edge.

The Realme Narzo 10, on the other hand, has a waterdrop-notch display and Onion-inspired design inspired by the Realme X Master Edition with quad camera setup (vertically-aligned) at the back. The phone also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. The placement of buttons and charging port, as well as headphone jack, are the same as the Redmi Note 9.

The specifications of Redmi Note 9 include a 6.53-inch DotDisplay that bears FHD+ resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and a punch-hole in the top left corner. The Realme Narzo 10, in contrast, packs a 6.5-inch HD+ display with waterdrop notch atop and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone rocks MediaTek Helio G80 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB user-expandable storage under the hood. The Narzo 10 runs on Android 10 with Realme UI on top and houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The phone’s quad camera setup consists of 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors around the back, while up front, it sports a 16MP snapper.

Redmi Note 9 vs Realme Narzo 10: verdict

We can only tell how good Redmi Note 9 is in real-world usage when our detailed review comes out, so stay tuned for that. As for as the specs-sheet goes, the Redmi Note 9 seems to have an upper hand over Realme Narzo 10 owing to the use of Helio G85 chipset instead of G80 SoC, a FHD+ resolution instead of HD+, up to 6GB RAM option, and fast charging tech. The Realme Narzo 10, however, has slightly better selfie camera resolution compared to its counterpart.
