Reliance Industries Limited is hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today. The keynote address for the 46th RIL AGM will be given by the company’s Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani. Here, the conglomerate will announce updates on its various subsidiaries along with the unveiling of new products and services.

RIL AGM: what to expect
This is Reliance’s biggest event of the year, which not only has stakeholders’ eyes on it but the general public as well. There’s quite a lot that’s expected from this event but here’s a look at some of the key announcements that could be made today:
- Jio 5G plans: Reliance Jio launched 5G in October last year but it is yet to announce proper plans for the service. At present, Jio users can use 5G services on existing 4G plans. Reliance is expected to announce 5G plans at the AGM.
- Jio 5G smartphone: At the AGM in 2020, Ambani made some major announcements about launching affordable 5G smartphones in India in partnership with Google. We haven’t seen a Jio 5G smartphone yet but we’re expecting some confirmation at the AGM today. There have been leaks though about the upcoming Jio 5G smartphone.
- Jio AirFiber: Jio’s AirFiber 5G hotspot device was announced at the 2022 AGM but it’s still not available for purchase. Reliance is expected to reveal the price and availability details of its Jio AirFiber 5G hotspot device. This is a hotspot device that can offer fiber-like 5G speeds at home or office.
- Other announcements: In the business side of things, Reliance is expected to announce the IPO listing for Jio, and we could hear more about the conglomerate’s partnership with global players.
