Jio has no plans to increase recharge tariffs

• According to the report from the Times of India, Jio has no plans to increase prepaid recharge packs in India.
• The company's objective is to offer "affordable access" to its user base.
• Mathew Oommen, the President of Jio, has reiterated that the brand's strategy does not involve substantial tariff increases.
• Instead, the focus is apparently on customer acquisition, especially as customers lean towards data plans with a heavier internet usage component. 
• What this means is that Jio wants to stay competitive in the market by keeping prices affordable so more users can join their network.

Recently, Reliance Jio announced a standalone net profit of Rs 5,058 crores for the quarter ending in September. This is a 12.10 percent YoY growth and an increase of 4 percent compared to the previous quarter, majorly due to higher revenue.

The revenue from operations reached Rs 24,750 crores, showing a 9.89 percent YoY growth. In comparison, the previous quarter accounted for Rs 24,042 crore, a growth of 2.94 percent, as per the company. The average revenue per user per month increased by 2.5 percent YoY to reach Rs 181.7. In the previous quarter (Q2FY23), it was at Rs 177.2.
