Tech giant Samsung hasn’t revealed the launch date of the Galaxy S24 series, but it is speculated that the series might be launched soon with three models – Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra – in the coming months.
This speculation is fuelled by the recent sighting of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra on the NBTC certifications website, which also reveals some key details. It is worth mentioning that the smartphone has also appeared on a number of certification websites, including the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website.
Galaxy S24 Ultra spotted on NBTC website
- As per reports (via), the NBTC certification establishes the moniker of the phone as Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
- The certification discloses the model number of the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra as SM-S928B/DS.
- The certification also confirms that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will support 5G.
- Other than the name, model number, and 5G support, the NBTC certification doesn’t provide any additional specifications for the handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is reported to launch on January 17th, with pre-orders starting on the same day as the debut, according to a recent report. Users who choose to pre-order can anticipate receiving their phones within the timeframe of January 26th to January 30th.
The open sale of the Galaxy S24 series is said to commence on January 30th. It’s important to note that Samsung has not officially confirmed these details on its social media or communication platforms at this time.
Galaxy S24 Ultra specifications (expected)
- Display: The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumoured to have a 6.8-inch WQHD+ display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.
- Chipset: The Galaxy S24 Ultra might be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with Adreno GPU.
- Storage: The Galaxy S24 Ultra could come with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and there’s a possibility of a larger variant with 24GB of RAM.
- OS: The handset is expected to run on the Android 14-based One UI custom skin from the moment it is unboxed.
- Rear cameras: The phone may sport a quad-camera setup, including a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP Sony IMX564 ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP Sony IMX754+ telephoto lens providing 3x optical zoom.
- Battery: The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is speculated to feature a 5,000mAh battery and support 45W fast charging technology.
Galaxy S24 Ultra design
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a boxy design characterised by square edges, according to the recently leaked renders. The flagship exhibits slim and symmetrical bezels with less pronounced curved edges. Positioned centrally is a punch-hole cutout on the front for the selfie camera. On the right edge, one can find the volume rocker and power button.
Turning to the back, the Galaxy S24 Ultra hosts quad-camera sensors, including telephoto sensors, protruding from the flat surface, accompanied by an LED flash. While the render displays the phone in grey, there might be additional color options upon launch. Tipster Ice Universe emphasised that these images offer the closest representation of the Galaxy S24.
