Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5 spotted at FCC, Geekbench

"The model number SM-G398F spotted on the FCC is very similar to last year's Xcover 4 model"

Samsung's rugged phones are sold under the Xcover moniker and the latest was the Xcover 4 back in April 2017. But it looks like the chaebol has plans to upgrade the series after a long time. The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5 has reportedly appeared on the FCC portal and Geekbench as well, which signals its launch could be close.

The model number of the handset SM-G398FN/DS has appeared recently on FCC and this model is likely to be the Xcover 5. Its battery is likely the same as the previous-gen model which is 2,800mAh as the FCC filing mentioned a 10.78 Wh battery at 3.85 Volts. But that's pretty much it for the FCC documents. Since the listing does not explicitly state the model number to be for the Xcover, we would be wary of jumping to conclusions. However, the Xcover 4's model number was SM-G390F which is similar to this model here.
