Subway Surfers arrives as an Xmas treat for Windows Phone 8 users

The popular endless runner game has finally made its way to the Windows App Store.

Yet another popular game for iOS and Android has made its way to the Windows Phone operating system. Subway Surfers, the popular endless runner game, is now available on the Windows App Store for free. The game only supports Windows Phone 8 devices as of now.

If you aren’t familiar with Subway Surfers, think Temple Run. The aim is to keep running and dodging obstacles in your way for as long as possible. It features three characters – Jake, Tricky and Fresh. The player portrays the role of a guerilla artist, caught in the middle of painting a train yard. Players also have access to special objects like jetpacks, jumping shoes and a hover board which are peppered throughout the running track. Using them adds to the game’s score. The developers, Denmark-based Kiloo, have kept the gameplay fresh by introducing several new cities in various updates.  Subway Surfers trumps Temple Run in popularity ratings, and this is one of the reasons why. If you download Subway Surfers now, you’ll even get a chance to meet Santa in the game.
